Flag Ceremony at Salem Cementry

The Salem Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 34, Bloomburg, Texas, will have their annual Flag Ceremony on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m, at the Salem Cemetery.. This short program “lives” to honor our veterans in celebration of Memorial Day.
We will have as our guest speaker, Mr. Jeff Silar, who attended West Point and is currently a Marketing/Business teacher at Atlanta ISD. Boy Scout Troop No. 311 will be assisting and musical entertainment will be by Mrs. Beth Tyson Boyd and Kinsey Alyse Kelly. Mr.George Leuba will be performing taps.
In addition to the celebration, there will be a “Ribbon-Cutting” ceremony by Susan Anthony Billings, Salem Cemetery Association President, who will also be unveiling the new sign recently designed and built by Salem Association Director, Donna Simmons. The sign will contain an Index of those buried in the cemetery and other historical information.
Salem Cemetery is located just south of Hwy 74 on CR 4810, two (2) miles west of Bloomburg. While some chairs will be available, one might want to bring an extra lawn chair. Refreshments will be served following the program.
