Carroll Gene “Keyhole” Gholson, age 86, of Shreveport, Louisiana formerly of Bivins, Texas died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at his residence.
Carroll was born April 19, 1931 in Cass County, Texas to James and Ellie Gholson. He was retired from Texas Department of Public Safety; was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church, Atlanta; and Jim’s Bayou Masonic Lodge. He served in the United States Army during the Bay of Pigs Invasion. He loved spending time with family and gardening. He was preceded in death by his sister, Geraline Maxwell; three brothers, Theron Gholson, Lawrence Gholson, Horace Gholson; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Gholson of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sons, Kerry Gholson of Arnaudville, Louisiana, James Gholson of Marshall, Texas; two daughters, Sandy Glover and husband Wayne of Linden, Texas, Mona Anzualda of Linden, Texas; two step-sons, Robert May of Shreveport, Louisiana, Adam McWilliams of Shreveport, Louisiana; step-daughter, Sarah Toups of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother, Lindy Gholson of Texarkana, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Latter Day Saints Church, Atlanta under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Kevin Rougeau officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Center Hill Cemetery.
