Railroad Crossing Closed

Motorists who normally travel FM 74 in Queen City will need to find an alternate route on Wednesday, May 3. Union Pacific Railroad will be closing the highway to through-traffic on this date to make repairs to the railroad crossing. Traffic will officially be detoured on a signed route through Atlanta on Loop 236, US 59, FM 249, FM 251 and FM 785. Trucks must use the official detour route, but other motorists may use…

Linden Wildflowers Trail

Coming up in Linden is the 47th Annual Wildflower Trails of Texas Festival on April 28 & 29. This is a joint event between the towns of Linden, Avinger and Hughes Springs that celebrates the blooming of our gorgeous East Texas wildflowers. April is Child Abuse Month

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is stepping up prevention efforts through its Help for Parents, Hope for Kids campaign as well as participating in a broad range of community events during the month of April.
