Jerry H. Burton, age 80, of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 19, 2023, in a Frisco, Texas adult care facility. Jerry was born in Atlanta, Texas, to Conley and Judy Burton. He was retired from Bo-Mac Contractors; was a member and Deacon at First Baptist Church, Queen City, Texas; and served in the Army National Guard. Jerry enjoyed volunteering at his church and in his community, listening to gospel music, traveling and hiking. He was also an avid fan of the Houston Astros and the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Caver Burton of Frisco, Texas; two sons, Jody Burton of Frisco, Texas, Jeff Burton and wife Mandy of Huffman, Texas; sister, Diane Brown and husband Donald of Atlanta, Texas; two grandchildren, Reagan Burton of Huffman, Texas, Stella Matthews of Frisco, Texas; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, August 25, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Queen City, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Billy Rex Sheets officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, August 25, 2023, from 1:00 pm, to 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Queen City, Texas.
Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery, Atlanta, Texas.
