George Paul Lowery, age 76, of Queen City, Texas went to be with the Lord Friday, May 24, 2019 in an Atlanta, Texas hospital.
George was born April 1, 1943 in Yell County, Arkansas to James and Eulene Lowery. He was retired from International Paper; served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas. He enjoyed spending time with this grandchildren, writing songs and all kinds of outdoor activities. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Lowery, Doyle Lowery; two sisters, Sue Aaron, Zurlene Hopper; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith Lowery of Queen City, Texas; two sons, Gerald Lowery and wife Kelley of Queen City, Texas, Jeff Lowery; two daughters, Linda Lee and husband Tim of Hutting, Arkansas, Connie Lowery of Cleveland, Texas; brother, Ted Lowery of Bastrop, Louisiana; sister, Ruth Outlaw of Bastrop, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Dustin Hilton, Audrey Lowery, Aaron Lowery, Savannah Riddell, Hunter Lee, Cody Lee; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Jerry Stuckey and Charlie Elrod officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, May 27, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Queen City Cemetery.
