Billy Wayne Hensley Sr. age 85, of Queen City, Texas, passed from this life Sunday, December 25, 2022 in a local adult care facility. Billy was born September 3, 1937, in Miller County, Arkansas, to Willie and Winnie Hensley. He was retired from ArkLa Gas; a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; and was a former Volunteer for Queen City Fire District 2. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, planting Nanny’s flowers and was a professional piddler.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Elois Hill, Marie Whitten; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hope Hensley of Queen City, Texas; his children, Billy Hensley Jr. and wife Brenda of Atlanta, Texas, Peggy Peacock and husband Ronnie of Bloomburg, Texas, Terry Hensley and wife Vanny of Atlanta, Texas, Mary Franks and husband Gary of Queen City, Texas, Eddie Hensley and wife Lisa of Queen City, Texas, Tammy Neilson and husband Robert of Queen City, Texas; sister, Mary Veik of Atlanta, Texas; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in the Hanner Funeral Chapel.
Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Bright Star, Arkansas.
