Jim Yount, age 88, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at a local nursing home. He was born October 10, 1935 to Franklin and Oneta Yount. Jim was a founding member of Calvary Tabernacle and was a private pilot. He dedicated his life to his church and his business and he loved to fly and be with his family.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Faye Yount; son, Ronald Wayne Yount; and his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Chris Yount and wife Kay of Atlanta, Texas, Gary Moore and wife Holly of Queen City, Texas; brother, Ennis Yount and wife Ann of Atlanta, Texas; sister, Peggy Dupree and husband Billy of Atlanta, Texas; nine grandchildren, Melissa Powell and husband Chad, Josh Yount and wife Kasey, Ashley Rozell and husband David, Coty Yount and wife Melissa, Gary Moore, Casey Yount and wife Katie, Sue Yount, Austyn Baxley and husband Paul Welborn, Matthew Murphy; numerous great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Calvary Tabernacle, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, with Bro. Billy Dupree officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery.
