JEFFERSON, Tx. – A Jefferson ISD teacher is currently under police investigation for having an alleged improper relationship with a student. That’s according to Jefferson ISD Superintendent Rob Barnwell.
Bardwell says the female teacher is currently under investigation by Jefferson ISD Police Department for having an alleged improper relationship with a male high school student.
Bardwell said in a statement that the district promptly reported the alleged incident to appropriate authorities, including Child Protective Services and local law enforcement authorities.
The teacher has not yet been identified and is currently on paid administrative leave.
“As a public-school district, the safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority. We will continue to work closely with all agencies involved to assist with this investigation, and we will maintain communication with the appropriate people involved as this situation develops. If anyone has information which may be deemed as helpful to us regarding this investigation, please feel free to contact my office,” Bardwell said.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the investigation.
