Raby Little passed away at 104 years on May 24 at Golden Villa in Atlanta, TX.
She was born in Bowie County to Elisha and Fannie Elrod on January 21, 1915 – the seventh of eight children. Raby was a member of the Atlanta Church of Christ for many years .She loved her church and her many friends there. She drove herself every Sunday until she was 99 years old- and kept on fishing for as long as she could. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Tommy, 3 brothers, 4 sisters, all of their spouses and many of their children.
She is survived by her son, Steve Little and wife Nita of Atlanta,Texas ; daughter, Tomye Sue and husband Dr. John Haynes of Vivian, La. Five Grandchildren, Dr. Jay Haynes and wife Bonny of Argyle , Texas, Loree and husband Mark Denney of Aubrey ,Texas, Dr. Andrew Haynes and wife Peaches of Bossier City, La. , Emily and husband Chace Clayton of Atlanta, Texas and Wesley Little of Atlanta, Texas . Eleven Great-Grandchildren and two Great-Great Grandchildren.
Her passing leaves an enormous void in our hearts and lives. She leaves behind the memory of a lasting legacy of love, friendship and a close family – and famous chicken and dumplings and enchiladas. Our Mom (MaMaw) lived a full, wonderful life and those who loved her were blessed to be a part of her life’s journey.
Celebration of her life will be held at the Hanner Funeral Chapel on June 2, 2019, at 2 pm, with Tom Hooten officiating.
The family will welcome and receive friends for visitation at 1 pm prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be: Wesley Little, Trevor Green, Jayson Haynes, Drew Haynes, Frank “Jitter” Oswald, James Joslin, Danny Stanley and Chace Clayton.
Interment will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery.
