Renetta Mitchell, age 76, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at her residence. She was born in 1946, in Goliad County, Texas to Edgar and Frieda Berger. Renetta was a Christian by faith and enjoyed sewing and working in the yard. She was an exceptional baker, but she found her real joy in her family.
Renetta is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Delores Waitchies, Linwood Berger, Olivia Horelka and Edgar Berger.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Doug Mitchell; sons, Lloyd Mitchell II, Allen Mitchell and wife Dawn; daughter, Tonya Jones; brother, William Berger; sisters, Donnie Mae Berger, Ellanora Wells, Myra Powell; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a number of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the Hanner Funeral Service Chapel with Lynae Hunt and Anna Rutherford officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 13, 2023 at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
