Surrounded by loved ones, Ronald Perry Allen, 70, of Linden, Texas, passed away February 16, 2023. Mr. Allen was born August 30, 1952 in Dallas, Texas to J.P. and Nancy Allen. He graduated from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas in 1970 and worked for the City of Dallas before moving to Linden in 1977.
After working as a millwright at Lone Star Steel Ron joined his father J.P. and brother Gary and opened Allen Automotive in Linden. For the next 40 years he was a self-employed automotive technician and operated a wrecker service in Cass County.
A friend to all and devout Christian, Ron enjoyed his church family, gardening, listening to music and spending time with family.
He is survived by his brothers Gary Allen of Texarkana, Texas and John Allen of Houston, Texas; wife Sharon of Linden; daughter Renee Mathews, her husband Wayne and grandchildren Cameron and Ryan of Aurora, Colorado.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.P. and Nancy Allen.
Services will be Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden, officiated by Ron’s nephew, Scott Southers, with burial following at Harris Chapel Cemetery.
There will be a time of visitation beginning one prior to the service at Reeder-Davis Chapel.
