Texas A&M-Texarkana Baseball Player Shot

A Texas A&M-Texarkana baseball player was struck by a stray bullet Saturday evening during a game at Spring Lake Park. The 18-year-old was standing in the bullpen when a stray bullet struck him. The player was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital for emergency surgery and was listed in stable condition.  Texarkana Texas  police say the shot came from an altercation in a neighborhood west of the park. The player was not targeted and  the shooting was not related to any activity in the park.

Texarkana police have issued warrants for Kamauri Butler (17) for Aggravated Assault and Demarco Banks (20) for Deadly Conduct. Banks turned himself in overnight and was booked into the Bi-State Jail.
