Dorothy Jean Stewart, age 89, of Douglassville, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 25, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born July 29, 1934 in Blanket, Texas to Harold and Sallie Marie Brawner. Dorothy was an active member of Douglassville United Methodist Church, serving on several committees through the years. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, but her family brought her the most joy.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Billy J. Stewart; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Stewart, Clyde Ray Stewart; sisters, Willie Jo Brown, Helen Williams; son in laws, Jackie Pate, Jerry Turner; and her parents.
She is survived by five daughters, Donna Durmon and husband Eddie of Bloomburg, Texas, Teresa Stewart of San Antonio, Texas, Patricia Wells and husband Bobby of McLeod, Texas, Debbie Pate of McLeod, Texas, Becky Allen and husband Billy of Douglassville, Texas; daughter in laws, Denise Stewart, Neda Stewart; sister, Betty Harding and husband Eddie of Abilene, Texas; fifteen grandchildren, Misty, Justin, Shane, Leslie, Mandy, Brady, Sarah, Holly, Jason, Ashley, Jared, Anthony, Tyler, Macey, Camryn; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in the Hanner Funeral Service Chapel, with Bro. Gary Terry officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, November 27, 2023 at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Douglassville Cemetery.
