John Sanders

John Sanders

John Sanders, 52, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 12, 2023. John was born on February 13, 1971, to Jennie and Robert Sanders in Hattisburg, Mississippi. After graduating from Lumberton High School in 1989, John went on to study computer sciences at Lamar University, Beaumont.

In 1991, he met his “High School Sweetheart,” Tiffany, at Westgate Church of Christ. They married in 1997, going on to have two sons, Hayden and Hudson. John spent his life serving the Lord and loving his family. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. The family served the Lord together as missionaries in The South Pacific. John was passionate about sharing the love of Jesus around the table at their home in Tauranga, New Zealand. He spent many years as a computer engineer and blessed many companies with his talents. He was amazing at letting all of us ask endless tech questions, and never complained (at least not to us). Most of all he was his family’s biggest cheerleader, fervently encouraging Tiffany to further her education and for the boys to find their passion for life.

John was larger than life with his strong hands, his boisterous voice and his long beard. He loved teaching the First and Second graders at Cross Creek Cowboy Church, going to Saturday morning Brother’s-In-Christ breakfast group, and his Central Texas Tres Dias Men’s Retreat. He co-founded a ministry serving the needs of the elderly and widowed in Cass County. Even though he had many health issues, he never failed to make sure others’ needs were met and always had a smile on his face. He would take the time to pray for others in spite of having his own needs. The scripture that comes to mind when you think of John is II Timothy 4: 7-8. “There is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but to all those who have loved His appearing”.

John was preceded in death by his father Robert Minis Sanders, grandparents John Lee and Mary Louise Long, grandparents Bennie and Ethel Sanders, and aunt Mary Ethel Long, Great-aunt and uncle CV and Annie Lee Balenger.

John is survived by his loving wife Tiffany Sanders, sons Hayden and Hudson Sanders, mother Jennie Sanders, sisters Jennifer Freeman and Debra Rodriguez and her husband Javier, and nieces and nephews Kip Smith and wife Bree, Kaci Ruiz and husband David, Robert Smith, Jacob Templain and wife Laura, Heather Templain, Bailey Saucedo and husband Miguel, and Jackson Rodriguez.

Funeral services will be held at Cross Creek Cowboy Church in Atlanta on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
