Emergency Resources Available for East Texans

Press Release from Texas Congressman Nathaniel Moran

East Texas was devastated by a series of storms this past week – leaving thousands of residents with damage to their homes and businesses, and many more still without power. My team and I have been in close contact with local officials, state agencies, and electric delivery companies to ensure federal support of local efforts. Amid rising temperatures, several communities have opened cooling centers for East Texans in need of a place to escape the heat. An updated list of cooling centers is available by clicking HERE. If your home or business was damaged in the recent storms, you can report that damage to the Texas Division of Emergency Management by clicking HERE. Thank you to our first responders who quickly jumped into action, and thank you to the city and county-level elected leaders and emergency management coordinators, who provide the first level of response in these tough situations and who are the first point of contact for citizens needing assistance.
Stay steady. Keep up the great work serving others. It is an honor to be your voice in Congress and to stand with you during these times.
