Mary Ann Anderson, Obit

Mary Ann Anderson, age 78, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Mary Ann was born October 10, 1944, in Minden, Louisiana, to John and Martha Luck. Mary Ann’s forty plus year career in education included teaching special education at Queen City ISD and retiring from Atlanta ISD as a diagnostician. Mary Ann was a member of First Baptist Church, Atlanta where she was a faithful member of the Lydia Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association.

Mary Ann was loved by all for her generous spirit and kind nature. She loved hosting holiday celebrations with family and friends. She was a doting grandmother who never missed an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon Anderson Midkiff; her parents; and her brothers, Joe, Tommy and William Luck.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Anderson of Atlanta, Texas; son, Turner Anderson and wife Carly of Texarkana, Texas; son-in-law, Herd Midkiff and wife Claire of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Will Anderson, Nealy Kate Anderson, Caroline Midkiff, Laurel Midkiff; a nephew, Kevin Luck and his daughter Hannah of Minden, Louisiana; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 1, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Atlanta, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Wes Mills officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, June 30, 2023, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
