On July 9, 2023, our beloved Chris Alan Whatley, Jr. (CJ) was called home to be with the Lord, he was 28 years old. CJ was born May 14, 1995, to Chris Alan Whatley, Sr., and Cynthia Wright.
He was a very loving and devoted son to his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing video games for Pokey’man in his free time. CJ attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton Georgia where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Ray Jenkins; his paternal grandfather, Richard Whatley, Sr., and his uncle, Richard Whatley, Jr. (Dickie).
He left to cherish his memory, his maternal grandmother, Brenda Hughes of Vivian, LA; paternal grandmother, Sue Ramey; mother, Cindy Wright and husband, Steven of Ida, LA; father, Chris Alan Whatley, Sr. of Vivian, LA; sisters, Lacey and Kacey Wright, Shawn and Anna Wright; aunts, Billie Jo Whatley of Vivian, LA, Carrie Ramey and wife, Emily, Robin Edwards and husband, John of Shreveport, LA, Linda Miles of Blanchard, LA; girlfriend, Paige Shannon; fellow gamers, Matt, Andrews and his best friend, Michael. Along with numerous cousins and other family members.
There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, July 14, 2023, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Chris Alexander officiating.
Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery.
