Dirindia Janelle Templeton, 82, of Bright Star, AR passed away from this world to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023, while at Golden Villa Nursing Home in Atlanta, TX surrounded by her loving husband Bill and several friends and loved ones.
Dirindia (aka Drin, Mama, Granny, Aunt D, Big D) was born in Springdale, AR on May 5, 1941. She was a member of the Bright Star chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was known as perhaps the best Babysitter in Miller County and from her home in Bright Star raised HER kids and countless others, many of whom have their names written on a small thin piece of plywood (if ya know, ya know).
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepparents, and her brothers.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Bill Templeton; son Billy Templeton and wife Sandy of Bright Star, AR; son Jim Templeton and wife Tammy Templeton of Bright Star, AR; and scores of friends, relatives, grandkids, and great grandkids who were near and dear to her heart.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Olive Branch Methodist Church.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
