Heaven gained another angel. Tammy Smith Fanning went to her heavenly home on September 28, 2023, at a hospital in Plano, Texas. Tammy was born May 27, 1971 in Texarkana, Texas and lived in Miller County, most of her life. She was a homemaker and member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Doddridge, Arkansas. Tammy was as stubborn and strong as they come, she loved her family, kids and grandkids. She would have done anything for anyone possible.
Tammy was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her father, Dennis Smith and sister, Kristin Taylor.
She is survived by her loving husband of twenty-five years, Harroll E. “Gene” Fanning of Doddridge, Arkansas; daughter, Krysten Smith and husband Steven of Texarkana, Texas; sons, Wyatt Fanning of Texarkana, Texas, Chris Herring and wife Haylee of Call, Texas, Chance Fanning and wife Kaitlyn of Fouke, Arkansas; parents, Carolyn Taylor and husband David of Doddridge, Arkansas; sisters, Valerie Mills and husband David of Texarkana, Arkansas, Natalie West and husband Chris of Texarkana, Texas, Angela Stanley and husband J.K. and Julie Alaniz both of Bloomburg, Texas, Cathy Bensken and husband Anthony of Laurel, Maryland; brother, Russell Taylor and wife Tina of Fouke, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, and one on the way; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Doddridge, Arkansas, with Rev. Tommy Henderson officiating.
