Martha Dee Stampes, age 79, of Atlanta, Texas, formerly of Summit, New Jersey, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at her residence. She was born February 15, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Paul Horn and Lollie Dee Lovelace and later was adopted by Bill Stone. She was retired from the Wesley Center Methodist Church Preschool; and from The Square Yard. Martha was a member of Linden Methodist Church and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Stampes; father, Paul Lovelace; and her mother and adopted father, Lollie Dee and Bill Stone.
She is survived by her children, Jeff Stampes of Longmont, Colorado, Shelly Hendry and husband Robert of Winston, Georgia; sister, Jeannie Crutcher and husband Don of Atlanta, Texas; three grandchildren, Jacy Brandt Stampes, Jaco Brandt Stampes, Joah Brandt Stampes; eight nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
