Carolyn McMichael Biddy, age 75, of Hooks, Texas, passed away on July 6, 2023, at her residence with her beloved husband Bruce Biddy at her side. Carolyn was born August 25, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Elby Wright and Patricia Ruth McMichael. She was a longtime resident of Hooks. Carolyn graduated from Hooks High School in 1965 and attended East Texas State University in Commerce graduating with a bachelor’s degree in home economics and later graduated with two master’s degrees in education. After graduating college, Carolyn was a teacher at Hooks High School for over 30 years and retired in 2008.
Carolyn married Bruce Biddy on June 7, 1993, in Hooks, Texas. Together they loved teaching dance lessons, music, fishing, and camping. She also owned and operated McMichael RV & Mobile Home Park in Hooks that she started with her father in the late 1960’s. Carolyn and Bruce loved working in the park together.
She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Bruce Biddy of Hooks, Texas, daughters, Dawn Grams Horak and husband, Matt of Grapevine, Texas, Joanna Grams Blair and Fiancé, Lance Cornell of Texarkana, Texas, granddaughters, Jill Blair and Annabelle Horak, stepdaughters, Amy Friddle, Kim Boddie, and Leslie Morriss, step grandchildren, Aidan Boddie, Kameron Frazier, and Keaton Frazier.
Carloyn was preceded in death by her parents, Elby Wright McMichael and Patricia Ruth McMichael, and her brother Don McMichael.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Texarkana and Precision Sitter Services for all the love and compassion they provided to Carolyn and the family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10th from 5pm to 7pm at Hanner Funeral Service in Atlanta, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 11th at 2pm at Hickory Hill Baptist Church in Avinger, Texas and officiated by Minister Danny Biddy of Liberty, Texas and James Duncan, Pastor of Hickory Hills Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Texarkana, Texas at 4pm.
Pallbearers are Matt Horak, Lance Cornell, Mark Biddy, John Bradford, O.R. Tuggle, and Kyle McKinney.
Honorary Pallbearers are Aidan Boddie, Kameron Fraser, Keaton Fraser, Phillip Love and Benton Barnette.
